
Dr. David A. Oliver
Senior Pastor
Dr. David A. Oliver was born in New York in 1964 and grew up in suburban Detroit. He trusted Christ as his Savior while a high school teenager as the result of reading a gospel tract. Soon after, he surrendered his life to preach and sought to prepare for the ministry. He holds a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, as well as a doctorate in Pastoral Theology. Since 1994, he has served as the senior pastor of Ashley Baptist Church.
He currently serves on the boards of the Independent Fundamental Baptist Fellowship of Michigan, and Proclaiming the Truth Inc. (Neighborhood Bible Time), and is chairman of the board of Maranatha Baptist University in Watertown, WI, He and his wife Penny have been married since 1987 and have three children and four grandchildren.
Pastor Oliver has also written two books The Ten Commandments and Wind in the Sails (A guidebook on preaching with fervency). His columns appear regularly in the Greenville (MI) Daily News and Proclaim & Defend, the weblog of the Foundations Baptist Fellowship International.

Gib Brown
Associate Pastor
Pastor Gib Brown came back to his home church, Ashley Baptist Church, in 2013 and currently serves as the Associate Pastor. He grew up in Belding, about three miles from where the church is currently located. He holds a bachelor's degree in Education and master's degree in Bible. Prior to his ministry at Ashley Baptist Church, he served for 10 years at Camp CoBeAc in Houghton Lake. During his time there, he had numerous responsibilities: managed day camp programs and youth rallies, directed food service, oversaw technology, and preached at various churches and youth events. He has been married to his wife, Katie, since 2013, and they have two boys. They enjoy working together with the youth and senior saints. Pastor Gib currently serves on the Youth Committee of the Independent Fundamental Baptist Fellowship of Michigan, and volunteers his tech talent for various ministries such as Bibles International.
